Mike discovered DREAM through Americorps and a life-long desire to live in Vermont at least once in his life. Mike’s background is varied, having worked for a minor league baseball club, a beach, golf and tennis resort and numerous odd jobs. Having spent most of life in the Carolinas, both North and South, he accepted an Americorps position with DREAM as a Program Empowerment Director in 2008, shortly after completing graduate school. In 2009, Mike took on the role of Program Director in Vermont. He now works as a Program Director supporting staff and programmatic systems in both Boston and Vermont.
He is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Recreation Management and he earned a M.A.T. in Special Education with a focus in intellectual and developmental disabilities from College of Charleston. Mike’s passion is combining his two educational experiences to promote life skills to children and empower them to live happy, independent lives. Mike has a tremendous love of baseball and coaching. He has been a high school coach with the South Burlington Rebels (2009-2012) and is currently coaching with the St. John's College High School Cadets in Washington, DC. Mike also enjoys skiing, hiking, all things related to the beach and reminding Sandy, Rachel and Britt of Appalachian State’s football victory over Michigan in 2007.
Mike currently lives in Washington DC and teaches at St. John's College High School. He provides both program support and technical support to all of DREAM's locations.
