Theory Of Change
DREAM's mentoring practices are based on our Theory of Change. This model explains the mechanisms that construct the organization’s results for our mentees:
We strive for every mentee to experience at least one (if not all) of our direct and indirect outcomes. For example, a mentee engages in constructive risk taking by attending overnight camp in the winter at Camp DREAM. These experiences increase a child's expectations and aspirations for what is possible in her life - it pushes her to try new things and to DREAM big.
The experiences and the adventures in DREAM are what empower DREAMers to challenge themselves and others. Each mentee's path through our program is different, but the key is that we use a mix of personal and interpersonal outcomes to help youth DREAM big about what is possible for their lives.
