Our Winter Adventure program in Vermont aims to offer mentees and mentors an opportunity to experience the outdoors during the winter. Winter Adventure includes numerous activities and is a component of our Theory of Change, playing a particularly strong role in our efforts to provide constructive risks to participants and to expand their comfort zones.
Our Winter Adventures are centered at Camp DREAM, with additional locations for specific activities.
Winter Adventure Camp (WAC):
- Day Winter Adventure Camp - a day of fun winter activities for mentees ages 8-12 and their mentors. Activities typically include cross-country skiing, broomball, snowshoeing, making snow forts and sledding.
- Overnight Winter Adventure Camp - a true winter camping experience open to mentees ages 10-12 and their mentors. Mentoring matches spend a night at Camp DREAM, learning and experiencing the joys of the outdoors and how to survive in winter weather under the supervision of our qualified Support Staff. Mentees must be 10 years of age or older.
- Teen Winter Adventure Camp - an event for mentees ages 13+ and their mentors. DREAM teens converge from all over Vermont to have fun outdoors in the winter and challenge themselves in new and bigger ways.
