2010 Alumni Reunion

Memorial Day Weekend, May 29-30

Catch up with old friends and meet new ones at this fantastic event.

Schedule

Saturday, May 29th 2010:

10:00 AM - First wave of Alums leave from Burlington! Dance party commences. Alums engage in hugs and joyful re-uniting with friends.

11:45 AM Arrive at Camp. Unload gear amidst much revelry. Load gear into sleeping quarters. TENTS WELCOME! Marvel at the Camp organic garden, chicken coop, tool shed, and flatbread oven! Give the bunnies some love!

12:30 PM- Welcome lunch by Alumni officers and DREAM office staff. Games to re-awaken the inner child!

1:30 PM - Activity Choice Time!
-Tour of Camp, Adventures wonders from Camp staff/Camp Staff Alum
-Canoeing and Kayaking at the Waterfront (POLAR BEAR SWIM!)
-Work Projects- Trail Work Galore
-4-way Dodgeball

3:00 PM –ALUMNI CHALLENGE and snacks

4:00 PM- COMMANDO!! Nuff Said

6:30 PM - Scrumptious Dinner w/ traditional Camp libations (Arnold Palmer) and songs

7:15 PM- Post-Dinner Discussion: YOU- As an Alumni how to stay involved, brainstorming, and what do you want!

8:00 PM - Evening Program: Catch Up with Old Friends by finger fencing, prep for bed, get ready for the show!

9:00 PM
– Fire Circle featuring The Best of Camp DREAM, Bonfire with 'shmallow roasting and apple roasting, Dance Party, and more!

Sunday, May 30th 2010:

9:30 AM -Scrumptious Breakfast and Pack it Up!

10:00 AM -METCALF-A-THON-A-LON. S%&t's gonna be crazy.

1:00 PM - Delicious Lunch

2:00 PM – Last Hooray! Enjoy Camp!!
- Return to work projects!
- Mountain Biking or Chillaxin' by Metcalf Pond
- Observe local Ecology with past program friends and new ones! SWEEET

3:00 PM - Wrap-up. Closing Ceremonies.

3:30 PM - Depart Camp (though there can be shuttles earlier in the day if folks have to bounce [leave])

Folks may also stay the whole weekend! Bring extra food, camp gear, and LNT principals!

Getting Here

Whether you come by plane, train, bus, car, burro, boat, or unicycle, we'll help you get here. We absolutely encourage car pooling. To help, please email Daniel with your schedule and needs. We can help you get/give a ride, pick you up, buy tickets, whatever.

Cars are leaving from Boston and NYC. Get in one!

Tickets to fly:

Check on last minute deals with United, see about Jet Blue, Delta, US Air, Continental, and others. Let us know when to pick you up. We'll take it from there.

Bus it:

Visit the Vermont Transit and Greyhound sites. Let us know your arrival time and we'll pick you up.

Driving/Riding

The Trust Walk
Clothing:
2-3 pairs of underwear (depending on
what you wear to swim)
3 pairs of socks
1 pairs of pants (in case it gets chilly)
1 pairs of shorts
1 swimming suit
3 short sleeve t-shirts
1 long sleeve shirt
1 fleece or heavy sweatshirt for warmth
1 rain jacket or poncho
1 pair of hiking shoes or sneakers
1 pair of gym shoes or sandals (for bummin’ around)
1 set of sleeping clothes
1 winter hat (for potentially chilly mountain nights)
 

Misc:

1 bag to put all your stuff in
1 flashlight or headlamp with batteries
1 sleeping bag
1 pillow with pillowcase (if you need it)
2 plastic bags (for damp/dirty clothes)
1 towel
1 water bottle
1 writing pad and a pen
A kick-ass positive attitude
 

Toiletries:

sunscreen
insect repellent
zip lock bag which might include:
  toothbrush and toothpaste
  pads or tampons as needed
