Help open the door to new possibilites for DREAM...
We are investigating purchasing this former library building, pictured above.
Templeton alum Jeff Kinkaid received his economic stimulus and wrote us to say “This is our chance to direct the federal budget--I say, ‘More money for DREAM.’” His $600 donation demonstrated the perfect way to put your money to effective work. We need fifty donors to move in.

Behind the Door
DREAM is undertaking an ambitious expansion to open new programs
throughout Vermont and get ready to move beyond to New Hampshire,
Massachusetts, and Rhode Island in the next five years. Last year, we
doubled our staff and Ben & Jerry's provided the extra office space.
With your help, we will bring the entire staff together in Winooski, a
location close to many of our local programs.
We are investigating the purchase of the former Winooski library. This
small city, next to Burlington, is undergoing a revitalization. The
Library building has been vacant for four years and we hope to bring
life back to it. Built in 1963 of block and stone, it provides 3000
square feet of office, storage, and programming space. The purchase
price is $90,000 and we plan to rent it until we have raised the money
to purchase it in full, meaning we will not take on debt. All rents
will count toward the purchase price. There is an initial cost to
moving in. The basement and furnace need upgrading and we plan to
weatherize the building with better windows and thicker insulation.
The Open Door Campaign will cover these initial costs, allowing us to
move into the space and call it home.

Our program relies on the generous support of parents, friends of DREAM, organizations, and companies to ensure our sustainability and ability to serve the children of Vermont.
