DREAM inclusive library initiative

Updated: Sep 3

We need your help!

What is an inclusive library? This summer, we had some amazing folks begin a project to create a diverse, inclusive library that all of our mentees would have access to! Representation in literature is so important for getting our kiddos excited for reading, and feeling like they are valued and have a place in the world. In order to purchase books and supplies for getting the libraries set up in each of the regions, a fundraiser was created! Taking action: We have started off on a wonderful foot (we are feeling SO thankful for all of the donations so far!) and would really love to meet our goal of $10,000 by the end of this year! It would be amazing if each of you could share our Mightycause page on your social media accounts to get the fundraiser boosted again! All you need to do is copy/paste this link: https://www.mightycause.com/team/Diversebooks4dream

If you have some extra time on your hands and have a story you'd like to tell about childhood literacy, your mentee/mentor relationship, and the need for representation in books, authors, & illustrators - you can create your own team on the Mightycause! There's no pressure to do so but it's easy to do. Once you click the link above, you will select "Join this Team" and get creative from there.

Want to get more involved? If you are curious about more details of the project or want to get involved in rolling it out in your region, contact me (Kayla Daughtry) at kdaughtry@dreamprogram.org!
